Music Effects On The Brain
What effects does music cause on the brain?
When we start listening to a happy song, our self-esteem and mood can go up, but if it's a depressing one, our feelings can collide with the ground leaving us as depressed as we supposed to be while listening to that kind of song.
I'm Chris Nolasce and I'm going to tell you about the effects tha tmusic causes on the brain.
Did you know that listening to music is the only activity that uses all of our brain? There's no doubt that music affects our mood and causes a number of sensations, but do you know how music affects our brain?
All we do is because of the brain activities and what it allows us to do. Note that any new thing for the brain is a new activity for it to process well and then let it all happen, in the case music gets in, then, it is broken down and interpreted separately:
- Rhythm: Left frontal cortex, left parietal cortex, right cerebellum.
- Tone: pre frontal cortex, cerebellum, temporal lobe.
- Lyrics: Wemicke area, Broca area, Motor cortex, Visual cortex and areas corresponding to emotional responses.
As you can see, music awakes almost all the brain. Besides, it's thought that music influences intelligence. Is that possible and true? I think it is.
